i believe it’s telling to feel compelled to write about someone whom you just began know. i met jordan about 4 months ago when he was brought in at the last minute to work on a commercial. the first thing i noticed about him was that he was a hard worker, a quality which is always appreciated in film production; the secondary qualities proved profoundly more interesting – his charm, his sense of fun, his passion for music and books, his sincerity, his laid-back perspective, his ability to engage people on a personal level and care about their point of view, and his enthusiasm for life. (you couldn’t help but marvel at someone who would be surfing at sunrise and then make it into the city for work by 7:30am.) i truly felt a growing sense of friendship and brotherhood with him. i worked with him a couple of days before he took off for costa rica. over christmas, i text messaged him, but didn’t hear back. i assumed he had extended his surfing stay, which, at the time, was a beautiful thought, as it was cold and rainy here. i found out on friday that he had passed away. my thoughts go out to all his family and friends. jordan was such a good guy. he is missed.
