Tom Ferraro, I have known you for nearly three years now. I admire your strength... Sorry for the lose of your Dad but even more for the tragic lose of your son Jordan...I would like to give my opinion to the question you pose... I think it is a american generational thing. Your fathers generation like my mothers had no choice they had to create their own opportunities, invent them if you will. They paid the price... Our generation the baby boomers had much more opportunities, but we were expected to go out and get it, pay the price... We I think may have made it too easy for our children trying so hard to make their lives so much better, too much too soon...Unfortunately the american dream is harder and getting even harder to attain,it's not something that we or our children were prepared for... My mother always said there is a price you must pay...for whatever success, money ,a marriage, career...So perhaps they don't want to pay the price because it is just too hard...Live in the moment Live hard Have fun Get it all in while you can. I can't say as I blame them...We thought is was going to be easier too, but there will still always be a price to pay...
