The following is an Irish blessing, of which I dedicate to the living spirit of Jordan Lee Ferraro. 'May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields and, until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of His hand.' PEACE OF GOD BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Just heard from Davey about Jordan, who I knew and hung out with in Eugene, OR way, way back when we were all in college, when living seemed easier and our worries were fairly limited on the grand scale of things. Jordan was always the gentlest and kindest soul, with a huge heart and easy laugh...hanging with him was like his impeccable skating, it all just flowed.... The world is definitely a sadder place without him in it, but I'm sure he's found a pretty kickass ramp somewhere, shredding and smiling until we all join up with him again one day. My thoughts and my heart are with his family and friends...

I was a friend and housemate of Jordan, Steve, Coan, etc. in Eugene. I have not talked to Jordan since this time, but he has remained in my thoughts (I have a picture of him on my fridge to this day). I will always remember his fimo, his "full sail", lighting farts, classical music, graceful skating, soft lisp, and pretty hands. With love, Erin

I knew Jordan back in elementary school in Newton and have since thought fondly of him whenever I saw Brittania jeans (random, I know, but he was probably my first crush...) On some bizarre tangent of my writing for a skateboarding magazine, I came across his name and wondered, whatever happened to him? I wish I had known he was in New York as it sounds like we would've had a lot to talk about. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Just came across a little picture Jordan had made. He added a funny little comment. It reminded me of a good time we had. It's nice to have memories of him sneak up on me. It's good to remember. It's been too long. Happy Holidays

Dr. Tom and friends - You don't know me but I stumbled upon Dr. Tom's Honoring Jordan article and really, just, felt it. Felt the warmth and the love, felt the community, the friends, the grief, the hope, and again, the love. I was moved by it, compelled to post here and express my thoughts...Wishing you all the best holiday season.Warmest regards, Michael

Good to hear you enjoyed your b-day Dr. Tom.Regarding your other entry - one of the ways Jordy lives in me is that every now and then I choose to do things like eat the best part of my meal first - instead of saving it for last - or wear my 'good clothes' for no particular reason. I tend to always try to 'save' for the future even in little ways, and that causes me to miss out on the present moment. Jordy had a terrific ability to enjoy all of the fruits of the present moment. What a great gift.

Hi - I just saw something with the name Jordan and it made me think of Jordan Ferraro - a crush from way back in 7th grade (1982). I googled his name and this site came up - unmistakably him by the beautiful photos. I am so sorry for your loss. I still have a vivid memory of being at a girls only birthday party when he called for one of the girls - everyone was so jealous and excited. I remember dancing with him at at St. Sebs dance. A very nice, funny guy who turned into an extremely talented artist. He had a great smile.

Steve, When I was hit by a wave in the side of my head it was as if the ocean was saying to me "Wham,,,,,don;t mess with me boy!" Very scarey indeed. My one and only time surfing was at the Shark Pit in Daytona Beach and come to think of it it would be a great article to write about. The guy I surfed with was John Miklas who was my best friend and since then has also died I think it would be good for his son to read about it and his Dad. ..That will be next weeks column for one of my papers and will submit it here afterwards.
